She meant to do this

And continued to do it over and over.

Sunday

The days go by and it's easy not to jot stuff down as it happens. So, today:

1) Rosemary lost a tooth while eating a bowl of cereal. Tooth seven.
2) Maggie got her own shirt on, very proud, very backwards.
3) We watched firemen climb in the third story window across the street. A small person looked out the window as a lone fireman came up the ladder, then popped the window open and climbed inside. Soon, the front door downstairs opened and seven firemen came out, and no small child. As they lowered the ladder, the same little face appeared in the same window. We think maybe the parents got locked out.
4) We went to our little aquarium at Coney Island, which we've been to many times before, and saw a giant moray eel, bigger than any we've never seen. It was really huge.
5) Afterwards we went for a quick walk on the boardwalk at Coney Island. As we were walking in the chill, Maggie turned to me and said simply, "Happy." In the middle of that sweetness, both Rosemary and Sylvia were freaking out, trying to convince us to go down to the beach and get in the water. You lose a lot of parent cred when you tell your children it's too cold to go swimming and then all of the sudden along comes the entire Polar Bear Club to take a dip.
6) We had lunch at a pizza place we've been meaning to go to for years and years, a little place with legendary waits, Grade B health grade, and a couple of folding tables. I liked the painting of the old man hanging showing him making pizza right beside him really making pizza. The pizza was stupendous, and Jason and I have now realized our days of being able to order just one pizza to feed our family are numbered.
7. And now, the Academy Awards.
