Berkshires

It went straight from chilly spring to midsummer weather here (aka HOT) this weekend, and we were lucky enough to be in the Berkshires at Jason's folks' house with them, up in Massachusetts. It was over-the-moon gorgeous. Rosemary hasn't been there since Thanksgiving, so she discovered the whole place anew, inside and out. City kid that she is, she was hesitant about this whole grass thing, but she warmed up to it pretty quickly. She loved walking around the yard, up and down the hills, even early in the morning when the grass was chilly and wet.

In other news (sorry for these catch-all laundry lists of miniscule stuff, but things come and go so quickly I try to write them down), she's grown attached to a scruffy little stuffed cat she has, who she calls "Mao." He looks a lot like a bear, and in fact he looks a lot like her beloved Corduroy minus the pants - I don't know whether she's made the connection but the timing is right. Others words in frequent rotation this week are piggies (toes), tootsies (she will wave her feet around), bee, baby, cut, clock, book,  tricky, top. When she wants to hit the road she says "Go go" and when she really means business (like today at the doctor's office) she adds, "Go go - DOOR!" Hugs are in and given freely, kisses are bestowed only sporadically.

My almost 4 year old, Bud, came over as I was reading this post and said, "Those are very cute pictures."

I agree! ; )
